Source of the data

Attorney records are compiled from the public attorney registration dataset published by the New York Office of Court Administration (OCA) through the State of New York open data portal at data.ny.gov. We present this public record without modification: attorney names, registration status, admission year, law school, and registered practice location appear as the source agency publishes them.

Accuracy and currency (Your Money or Your Life)

Because attorney status can affect important decisions — hiring counsel, filing a grievance, or verifying credentials — we treat this as a YMYL (Your Money or Your Life) topic and take accuracy seriously. Even so, we cannot guarantee that any record is complete, accurate, or current. Registration and disciplinary status can change between our quarterly refreshes, and there may be a lag between a status change and its appearance in our database.

For the authoritative, real-time status of any attorney, always verify directly with the official NY Attorney Search. If an attorney is not listed on the state's official registry, treat that as a red flag and do not rely on this or any third-party directory as a substitute for the state's record.
