About Assured Guaranty
Assured Guaranty is a financial guaranty insurance group. Its insurance subsidiaries stand behind timely repayment of interest and principal on debt issued by municipalities, infrastructure developers and structured-finance vehicles. The publicly traded parent, Assured Guaranty Ltd., is a Bermuda-based holding company listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol AGO. Assured Guaranty Inc., the main U.S. insurer, is incorporated under Maryland law and keeps its headquarters in New York. The group also provides reinsurance to the financial guaranty industry and holds an ownership interest in the asset manager Sound Point Capital Management.
Outside the United States, the group's subsidiaries in the United Kingdom and continental Europe serve those markets, and a Sydney office opened in 2024 to extend its presence in Australia. Its business spans public finance, global infrastructure and structured finance, including securitizations of loans and receivables. The company also offers credit enhancement tools for the fund finance market. The organization is an insurer and not a law practice.
