About Bingham McCutchen LLP
Bingham McCutchen LLP was a global law firm that had its origins in Boston in 1891. At its height it had roughly 850 attorneys in nine US offices and five international offices. Its growth came through mergers, including a 2001 combination with a New York City firm and a 2002 merger with a San Francisco firm. In November 2014 most of its partners and lawyers agreed to join the Philadelphia-based firm Morgan, Lewis & Bockius, and the Bingham name ceased to be used for legal services. Wikipedia records the firm's cessation of operations in late 2015.
Bingham's listed practice areas included financial restructuring, securities, litigation, antitrust, private equity, corporate finance and government affairs. Directory listings from before the combination placed an office at 399 Park Avenue in Manhattan. The firm also had offices in Hartford, Connecticut and Washington, D.C. Its New York office was one of several duplicate offices that the successor firm had to consolidate after the deal.
