About Disability Rights New York

Disability Rights New York (DRNY) is a not-for-profit organization that serves as the federally and state-authorized Protection and Advocacy System and Client Assistance Program for people with disabilities in New York State. It provides free legal and advocacy services, and its programs operate under federal grant mandates. Federal support comes from the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, the U.S. Department of Education and the Social Security Administration. Its designated programs include PADD, PAIMI, PAIR, PABSS, PATBI, PAVA, PAAT, CAP and representative payee advocacy.

The organization's work includes systemic and individual litigation on behalf of people with disabilities, along with fact sheets, publications, investigation reports and public comments.
