About JCCA
JCCA is a New York nonprofit that serves abused, neglected and traumatized children and their families. Formerly known as the Jewish Child Care Association, it traces its work to 1822 and describes its aim as helping children heal physically and emotionally. Its programs include foster care, residential treatment, mental health services, case management, education initiatives, and special services for children who have been sexually abused.
Its Pleasantville Cottage Campus in Westchester County has been part of the local community for over a century and houses residential programs for children ages 7 to 21, including Pleasantville Cottage School, Edenwald and Pleasantville START, a short-term assessment and treatment program. A Center for Healing on the campus treats child sexual abuse and commercial sexual exploitation. JCCA also maintains offices in Brooklyn and the Bronx, New York City.
