About Major League Baseball
Major League Baseball (MLB) is a professional baseball league in North America with 30 member clubs, 29 in the United States and one in Canada. It is led by Commissioner Robert D. Manfred, Jr. The league describes itself as the most historic professional sports league in the United States, and says its work extends across business, marketing, community relations and social responsibility. Its media operations include MLB Network, MLB.TV and the MLB.com digital platform.
The league's multimedia branch, MLB Advanced Media, is based in New York City and oversees MLB.com along with the websites of its 30 teams. The league's central office at 1271 Avenue of the Americas in Manhattan houses the Office of the Commissioner, and it began operating from that headquarters in January 2020. Another listed facility, the MLB Network base, is in Secaucus, New Jersey, outside New York State.
