About New York University Office of Equal Opportunity
The Office of Equal Opportunity (OEO) is an internal unit of New York University, a private university based in New York City. It advances and monitors the university's equal opportunity policies, procedures and programs, and administers its Non-Discrimination and Anti-Harassment Policy and complaint procedures for employees, students and non-employees. The office presents itself as the university's neutral unit for investigating allegations of discrimination and harassment in working and learning environments.
OEO also manages the university's response to alleged violations of its Sexual Misconduct, Relationship Violence and Stalking Policy and oversees compliance with Title IX, the federal law on sex discrimination in education. It provides guidance and training on university policy and on federal, state and city discrimination laws, including workshops for schools and administrative units. Since January 2025, workplace accommodation requests for employees have been handled by the Moses Center for Accessibility and Inclusive Culture. The office is located at 665 Broadway, 12th Floor, New York, NY 10012.
