About Office of Court Administration (OCA)
Serving as the administrative body of the New York State Unified Court System, the Office of Court Administration (OCA) manages day-to-day operations, staffing, budget and administration for the state's courts, and its work is directed by the Chief Administrative Judge. Its Counsel's Office acts as the internal law department, giving legal advice to judges and nonjudicial employees. The Inspector General's Office looks into misconduct by nonjudicial court personnel and by businesses dealing with the courts, and the Office of Records Management helps courts organize and store their records.
The agency operates in New York State from several locations: a New York City office at 25 Beaver Street in Manhattan, a second New York City address at 111 Centre Street, and an Albany office at 500 Patroon Creek Boulevard. Another Albany address, 187 Wolf Road, houses the Deputy Chief Administrative Judge for courts outside New York City. The official site lists 1-800-268-7869 for information about the courts, and the Attorney Registration Unit handles questions about attorney registration data.
