About Oneida County Family Court
Oneida County Family Court is a court of the New York State Unified Court System, within the 5th Judicial District. It hears matters involving children and families, including adoption, guardianship, foster care approval and review, juvenile delinquency, family violence, child abuse and neglect, and child support, custody and visitation. Divorces are granted by the Supreme Court rather than the Family Court.
The court sits in two Oneida County locations: the Oneida County Courthouse in Utica at 200 Elizabeth Street, and the Oneida County Courthouse in Rome at 301 West Dominick Street. Office hours at the Utica location are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The court also hosts a Family Treatment Court, which provides intensive case management for families with a pending neglect petition, according to a regional 211 directory listing.
