About Rockland County District Attorney's Office
The Rockland County District Attorney's Office is a county prosecutorial office in New City, New York. The District Attorney is an independently elected public official whose powers are set out in Rockland County Law, and prosecutorial authority is delegated to a staff of Assistant District Attorneys. The office assists local police and other law enforcement agencies with criminal investigations and prosecutes criminal charges on behalf of the State of New York. It does not pursue civil cases for individuals and is prevented by law from giving legal advice to the public.
Its bureaus and units include a Major Crimes Bureau handling homicide, manslaughter, armed robbery and assault cases; a Special Victims Unit covering sexual assault and crimes against children under 13; a Special Investigations Unit examining corruption, fraud and organized crime; a Narcotics Unit for felony drug investigations; and a Drug Task Force. The office is located at One South Main Street, Suite 500, New City, New York 10956.
