About The City University of New York School of Law (CUNY School of Law, also styled CUNY Law)

The City University of New York School of Law is a public law school within the City University of New York system, founded in 1983. Its stated mission is to graduate public interest attorneys and to enhance the diversity of the legal profession. The curriculum integrates clinical teaching with traditional legal studies, and every third-year student must take a clinic or supervised externship. Clinics cover criminal defense, immigrant rights, disability rights, family defense, mediation, and human rights, several operating in-house with supervised client representation.

The school is located at 2 Court Square in Long Island City, Queens, a short subway ride from Manhattan, in a LEED-Gold certified building. Additional programs include City Counseling, through which alumni offer free legal consultations via legislative offices, and CUNY LawWorks, a co-working space for alumni starting solo or small-group practices. The school also houses a Center for Diversity in the Legal Profession and publishes the CUNY Law Review.
