About The Museum of Modern Art
The Museum of Modern Art, commonly called MoMA, is an art museum founded in 1929 by a group of trustees who wanted an institution devoted to modern art. Its stated mission is to connect people from around the world to the art of its time, and it establishes, cares for and presents a collection that now spans the late 19th century to the present. The museum also operates as an educational institution, with exhibitions, film programs, lectures, publications and activities for families, students and visitors with special needs.
The museum's New York presence includes its main building on West 53rd Street in Midtown Manhattan, and MoMA PS1, an affiliated museum in Long Island City, Queens, which has been affiliated with MoMA since 2000. Its library, archives and conservation laboratory are regarded internationally as research resources. Registry entries reflect attorneys' own reports of this organization; the museum itself is not a law firm.
