The Research Foundation for the State University of New York (RF) is a private, not-for-profit educational corporation founded in 1951 to support the State University of New York. It holds a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt designation and administers grants, contracts and other sponsored programs on behalf of SUNY faculty, students and staff, while helping to ensure compliance with university, sponsor and government requirements. Its services also include technology transfer and commercialization, innovation and partnership support, and administrative functions such as personnel, payroll, purchasing and internal auditing.
