About Touro Law Center
Touro Law Center, formally Touro University Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center, is an ABA-accredited law school that is part of Touro University, a private, not-for-profit institution based in New York City. Established in 1980, the school is a member of the Association of American Law Schools. It offers full-time, part-time day, and FlexTime J.D. programs, with a January start option for full-time students, and joint degree options with SUNY Stony Brook (JD/MSW) and Touro's Graduate School of Business (JD/MBA).
The curriculum is described as particularly strong in criminal, family, health, international, business, intellectual property, and public interest law, and students must complete 40 hours of pro bono work to graduate. The school also runs a Senior Citizens Law Program from its Central Islip campus that provides free legal services to Suffolk County residents aged 60 and older. The main campus is at 225 Eastview Drive in Central Islip, adjacent to state and federal courthouses, and the FlexTime J.D. program is also offered at a Cross River Campus in Times Square, Manhattan.
