About Yeshiva University
Yeshiva University is a private, coeducational institution of higher learning chartered by New York State and accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. It traces its origins to an elementary school for Talmud study founded in 1886 on Manhattan's Lower East Side. Its undergraduate schools include Yeshiva College, Stern College for Women and the Sy Syms School of Business, which follow a dual curriculum combining Jewish studies with secular education.
The university also runs graduate and professional schools in areas such as law, medicine, psychology, social work, Jewish studies and business. These include the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law and the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, whose operations are managed by the Montefiore Health System. Its New York presence consists of four campuses in New York City: the Wilf Campus and Beren Campus in Manhattan, the Brookdale Center in Manhattan, and the Jack and Pearl Resnick Campus in the Bronx. Reference sources also mention facilities in Queens.
