About Youth Represent
Youth Represent is a New York nonprofit, founded in 2006 and organized as a 501(c)(3), that provides free legal services to young people in New York. Its clients are people aged 26 and younger whose lives have been touched by the criminal legal system. Its legal work is carried out by an interdisciplinary team that includes attorneys, social workers and paralegals. Alongside direct representation, the organization pursues policy reform, strategic litigation and youth leadership programs.
Casework covers employment discrimination linked to criminal history, housing disputes tied to criminal accusations, representation at school suspension hearings, and record sealing and related post-conviction motions. The group also helps transgender and gender-nonconforming youth with name and gender marker changes. It does not handle criminal appeals. Its main office is at 11 Park Place in New York, NY, and it delivers services through partner organizations across all five boroughs of New York City.
