The Office of Hearings Operations (OHO) is a component of the U.S. Social Security Administration that holds hearings and issues decisions on claims filed under Titles II and XVI of the Social Security Act, after the earlier levels of review. It directs a nationwide field organization of administrative law judges who conduct de novo hearings on appealed determinations involving retirement, survivors, disability insurance and supplemental security income benefits.
